Still Working on Those Skinny Jeans!

Here are some of the responses I've received since my last blog...

"OK, you caught me, but really did you have to write a whole blog post about me? ????????????????‍♀️”

"This is EXACTLY how I’ve been feeling! Ugh!!!"

"Love your last email. You described me to a T.”

"I am feeling your pain...I also felt the need to celebrate the holidays with sweets.”

"Yes, am identifying with everything you just listed!”

I had no idea that I would hear back from so many of you after my last letter!  I love that many of you can relate to how I am feeling right now and thought to reply. Thank you. It has really inspired me to stay on course and get back on track.

So, what have I been doing since I last wrote?  (You can find my previous letter here.) Here are some of the small tweaks I'm working on to get me back to healthier habits.

⭐️   I’ve been consciously making better food choices.  Adding in more veggies and eliminating heavy, starchy foods. No snitching the holiday cookies.  I put some in the freezer for a “maybe” later on.  Luckily there weren’t that many left.  (Or is that unlucky, because it means they were already eaten?)

⭐️ I decided to cut out my evening glass of wine, but still am allowing it on the weekends.  Something to look forward to! I find when I do this, I am less likely to be looking for an after dinner treat too – a win, win.  I’m making a point to stop eating at 8 pm or earlier so I don’t go to bed on a full stomach.

⭐️ I’m snacking on fruit and nuts, not the aforementioned holiday treats!  Although I have some 85% dark chocolate that I have in reserve for a special treat.

⭐️ I mentioned I wanted to do some meditation and have scheduled a 10 or 20 minute meditation in the mornings.  I find if I don’t do it then, I get busy with other things.  I haven’t done it every day, but I’m getting more consistent!  I am currently following Tracy Fadden of Reverie Meditation, and Chelsea Jackson Roberts on my Peloton app but you can find her on YouTube as well.

⭐️ Exercise is always a part of my routine, so that isn’t too hard for me to do.  But now I am motivated to push just a little bit harder…

Have you also been looking to self-correct your holiday habits?  Any tips you would like to share?

OH, ANOTHER BONUS FROM THIS EXPERIENCE…

Since I am determined to get back on track with healthy eating, and I’m hearing that there are others who are interested in doing this too, I thought I would do a one week healthy eating program at the end of the month.

It is appropriately called “Reset Your Diet & Get Back into Your Skinny Jeans!”

Will you join me?  I am always motivated when there are others with me!

The program is designed to have us eating healthy, anti-inflammatory foods for an entire week.  The goal is to lose some of the bloat that we have acquired by eating heavy, processed foods (and maybe too much of it too).  We want to feel good about ourselves so we are motivated to adopt other healthy habits and continue eating healthier as we enter the new year.

To do this, I will be prepping foods on Sunday via Zoom so everyone can follow along.  You’ll receive your own recipe book with all the healthy, whole food meals; an easy-to-follow shopping list, menu planner, and prep guide.

Maybe you'd like to join me?

Here are the details!
