Roasted Honey Cinnamon Chickpeas

15-ounce can organic garbanzo beans (or 1 1/2 cups cooked)
1 + 1/2  tbsp olive oil
2 tsp honey (or 1 tsp honey or maple syrup with 5 drops stevia) 
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp sea salt


  1. Preheat ovento 375 °F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas in a colander. Place them on a towel to dry off.
  3. Spread chickpeas on a baking sheet in a single layer. Coat with 1 tbsp olive oil.  Bake for approximately 45 minutes or untilcrispy. Test one, and if it's still soft, bake for longer.
  4. While the chickpeas are still hot, toss them in a bowl with the additional ½ tbsp oil, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. 
  5. Enjoy as is or for a caramelized effect, place them back in the oven for another 10 minutes orso.
  6. Store leftover chickpeas in an airtight container.


For savory version: Toss hot chickpeas in a bowl with 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, ½ tsps cumin, 1/8  tsp allspice, ¼ tsp marjoram and 1/8 tsp salt.  Continue from #5 above.
