Pear-Ginger Cranberry Sauce

This is a healthy raw version of the traditional craberry sauce.

12 oz. bag of fresh cranberries

1 pear, cored, cut into chunks

1 tsp grated fresh ginger

1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

1/2 tsp grated lemon zest 

1/4 tsp salt


  • Put cranberries and pear in food processor and pulse until finely chopped. ¬†
  • Combine with ginger, pumpkin pie spice, lemon zest and salt in a medium bowl.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours for flavors to blend.
  • Can be made up to one week ahead.


Other uses for this wonderful relish:

  • Warm in microwave and use in place of syrup on pancakes.
  • Swirl into plain Greek yogutrt and sprinkle with homemade granola.
  • Stir into cooked oatmeal.
  • Spoon into cavities of roasted acorn squash halves.
